Adding and Deactivating a Guest Book

You can add a guest book so visitors can leave comments on your website. You can set guest book entries to require approval or display immediately, and modify your guest book colors to compliment the look and feel of your website.

You can deactivate your guest book or replace it anytime.

When you add a guest book to your website, it counts against the number of pages your Website Builder plan allows. For example, if your Website Builder plan includes 10 pages, when you add a guest book to your Website, you have 9 remaining pages to use when building your website.

  1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
  2. In your Products list click Website Builder, and then click Manage next to the account you want to use.
  3. Click Add-Ons, and then select Guest Book.
  4. In the Email Address field, enter the email address you want to use to send comments and receive notifications.
  5. Click Setup Guest Book.
  6. To edit your guest book settings, click the the Guest Book preview, hover your mouse over the gear icon, and then select Edit Guest Book. From the Settings tab, edit the following information:
    • Guest Book Name — Enter a name for your guest book to display online.
    • Email Address — Enter an email address to receive notifications.
    • Approval Types for New Comments — Select Manual to manually approve comments, Automatic to let visitors post comments without approval, and Send email notification when a new comment is added to receive email message when there are comments awaiting approval.
    • Number of Entries Per Page — Enter the maximum number of comments to display online.
    • Profanity Filter — Select Use profanity filter to activate the profanity filter, and then enter the profane words you want to filter or click Use Default List to enter a list of common profanity. In the Replace with field, enter a term to replace profanity, such as "****"
  7. Click Apply.
  8. From the Display tab, select colors for the design elements of your guest book.
  9. Click OK, and click Publish. The guest book displays on your Web page.

To Deactivate a Guest Book in Website Builder

  1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
  2. In your Products list click Website Builder, and then click Manage next to the account you want to use.
  3. Click Add-Ons, and then select Guest Book.
  4. Click the Settings tab, select Deactivate Guest Book, and click OK.
  5. Click Publish; the guest book will longer display on your website.
