Managing Administrative Options in Website Builder Forums
Website Builder allows forum administrators to make discussions sticky. Discussions marked sticky stay at the top of the discussion list, regardless of whether they are the most active post or not.
NOTE: If you log in and do not see the following options next to each discussion, you are not logged in to your forum as the administrator. Please check your user name and password and try again.
To Make a Discussion Sticky
When a comment is added to a discussion, the discussion thread is moved to the top of the category list. As a result, other discussions move down the list. If you want a discussion to remain at the top of the list, unaffected by the movement of other discussions, you can make the discussion sticky.
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Add-Ons menu, click Forum.
- In Forum Details, click your forum's domain name.
- Click Log In in the upper right and log in using your forum's user name and password.
Click Forgot your Login for assistance. - Go to the Discussions tab.
- Click Stick next to the discussion that you want to make sticky.
To Remove a Sticky from a Discussion
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Add-Ons menu, click Forum.
- In Forum Details, click your forum's domain name.
- Click Log In in the upper right and log in using your forum's user name and password.
Click Forgot your Login for assistance. - Go to the Discussions tab.
- Click Unstick next to the discussion from which you want to remove the sticky.
To Delete a Discussion Thread
Once a discussion thread is deleted it is no longer viewable in your forum and it cannot be restored.
Note: If you want the discussion to remain viewable, but no longer want members to add comments, consider locking the discussion instead of deleting it.
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Add-Ons menu, click Forum.
- In Forum Details, click your forum's domain name.
- Click Log In in the upper right and log in using your forum's user name and password.
Click Forgot your Login for assistance. - Go to the Discussions tab.
- Click Delete next to the discussion that you want to delete.
To Lock or Unlock a Discussion
When you lock a discussion, members can no longer add comments to the discussion thread. However, they can still view the discussion. You can unlock a discussion at any time.
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Add-Ons menu, click Forum.
- In Forum Details, click your forum's domain name.
- Click Log In in the upper right and log in using your forum's user name and password.
Click Forgot your Login for assistance. - Go to the Discussions tab.
- Click Lock or Unlock next to the discussion that you want to lock or unlock.
