Managing Authors in Quick Blogcast
In Quick Blogcast®, you can add, edit and delete authors — the people authorized to post to your blog. You can then change authors' information, and activate and deactivate authors.
Edit author information to update display names, email addresses, user names, and passwords.
These features are not available with the free version of Quick Blogcast. To upgrade your account, see Upgrading Your Quick Blogcast Account
Adding an Author
You can give another user permission to help you manage your blogcast Website by adding the user as an author. Additional authors can log in at http://app.quickblogcast.com.
To add an author:
- Log in to your Quick Blogcast account.
- From the Post Activitiesmenu, select Manage Authors.
- Click Add Author. Enter author information in the following fields:
- Display Name
- The name associated with the author's posts.
- Email Address
- The author's email address.
- User Name
- The author's user name.
- Password and Verify Password
- The author's password. Re-enter the password to verify it.
- Permissions
- In the Status list, select Active or Inactive.
- Active
A current author who can create entries in your blog. - Inactive
An author whom you have created, but who cannot create entries in your blog. You can make inactive authors active at any time.
- Active
- Select the permissions that you want to grant the new author.
- Click OK.
Editing an Author
You can edit the general information or permissions that you assigned to any author.
To Edit an Author:
- Log in to your Quick Blogcast account.
- From the Blog tab, go to Post Activities and click Manage Authors.
- Click Edit next to the author you want to edit.
- Edit the author information in the following fields:
- Display Name
- The name you want to display with the author's post.
- Email Address
- The author's email address.
- User Name
- The author's user name.
- Password and Verify Password
- The author's password.
- Permissions
- In the Status list, select Active or Inactive.
- Active
A current author who can create entries in your blog. - Inactive
An author whom you have created, but who cannot create entries in your blog. You can make inactive authors active at any time.
- Active
- Select the permissions that you want to grant the new author.
- Click OK.
Deleting an Author
You can delete authors whom you do not want to have continued access to your blogcast Website. If you want to keep the author's profile for later access, do not delete the author, instead you can deactivate the author. You can activate inactive authors at any time. However, you cannot recover an author that you delete.
To Delete an Author:
- Log in to your Quick Blogcast account.
- From the Blog tab, go to Post Activities and click Manage Authors.
- In the Display Name list, perform one of the following actions to delete an author:
- Select the author(s) you want to delete, select Delete Authors from the Select action menu, and then click Apply.
- Click the Delete icon (X) next to the author you want to delete.
Activating or Deactivating an Author
Quick Blogcast lets you manage which authors are active or inactive on you blog.
To Activate or Deactivate an Author:
- Log in to your Quick Blogcast account.
- From the Blog tab, go to Post Activities and click Manage Authors.
- Check the authors you want and from the Select action drop-down menu select Activate Authors or Deactivate Authors, and click Apply.
- Click OK to confirm you want to activate or deactivate those authors.
