Managing Comments in Quick Blogcast
In Quick Blogcast®, the Manage Comments page lists the comments for your blog posts. On this page, you can view, approve, or delete comments; ban IP addresses; or mark comments as spam.
To Filter the Comments List
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- From the View list, select one of the following:
- All — View all comments
- Pending Approval — View all comments pending approval
- Approved — View all approved comments
- Spam — View comments marked as spam
- Deleted — View deleted comments
- Showcased — View showcased comments
- Click View.
To Search for a Specific Word or Value
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter the word or value you want to search for, and then click Search.
To View Comments
You can select how many comments you want to display on each page: 10, 20, 50, or 100. If there is more than one page of comments, you can change pages by selecting a different page from the Page Number list.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- Click the expand icon next to the title to view the content of a comment.
To Approve Comments
New comments visitors leave have a Pending Approval status until you approve them or mark them as spam. Comments you author have a Draft status until you approve them.
When someone leaves a comment, all authors receive an email message.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Select the comment(s) you want to approve.
- From the Select action list, select Approve Comments.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
To Approve Comments and Add Commenter
If you moderate your blog's comments, you can grant certain individuals permission to comment without requiring moderation. Use this feature if you have a repeat commenter whom you trust to be un-moderated. Comments of un-moderated commenters display immediately.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Select the comment(s) created by commenter(s) you want to add.
- From the Select action list, select Approve Comment and Add Commenter.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
To Edit Comments
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Click the comment that you want to edit.
- Make your changes and click Save.
To Delete Comments
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Select the comment(s) you want to delete.
- From the Select action list, select Delete Comments.
NOTE: You can also click the Delete next to the comment that you want to delete.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
To Reply to Comments
Quick Blogcast approves the comments you reply to.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Click Reply To This Comment next to the comment you want to reply to. The Write Comment page displays.
- Compose your comment, and then click Save.
To Mark Comments as Spam
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Select the comment(s) you want to mark as spam.
- From the Select action list, select Mark Comments as Spam.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
To Ban IP Addresses
Banning an IP address prevents anyone connecting to the Internet using that IP address from leaving a comment for any entry in your blog.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- In the Search list, select Comment Body, Author, Email Address/URL, or Status.
- Enter a keyword, and then click Search.
- Select the comment(s) with the IP addresses you want to ban.
- From the Select action list, select Ban IP Addresses.
- Click Apply. The Ban Reason window displays.
- Enter the reason you want to ban the IP addresses.
- Click OK.
To Delete All Comments Labeled as Spam
You can delete all comments labeled as spam without selecting them. If your blog receives a lot of spam, this feature helps you get rid of it quickly.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Launch next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Visitor Interaction menu, click Manage Comments.
- Click Delete Spam.
- Click OK.
