You can set the maximum amount of idle time allowed for remote desktop connections.

To Set Timeout Options for Remote Desktop Connections

  1. Log in to your IIS server using Remote Desktop. For more information, see Connect via Remote Desktop (RDC) to your Windows server.
  2. Once logged into Remote Desktop open the Start menu, navigate to All Programs, then Administrative Tools, then Remote Desktop Services and then open the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration menu.
  3. In the Connections area, right click RDP-Tcp then Properties.
  4. Click the Sessions tab.
  5. Specify the values you want to use.
