Unlock My Domain

We keep your domains locked to keep them secure. Locked domain names cannot be transferred to another registrar or account. When you make changes to a domain's settings, such as updating nameservers or contact information, we automatically unlock and re-lock the domain name. To transfer your domain name, however, you must unlock it.

  1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
  2. Next to Domains, click Manage.

How you now access the DNS manager will depend on the view of your account.

Card View

In Card View, your account will look something like this:

  1. Select the domain name you want to use, click Text Icon (Settings) and select Domain Settings.
  2. Under Additional Settings, click Edit next to Domain lock.
  3. Click the button to Off.
  4. To lock the domain again at any time, click the Domain lock button to On.

List View

In List View, your account will look something like this:

  1. Select the domain name you want to use.
  2. Under the Lock section, click Edit.
  3. Click Off, and then click Save.
  4. To lock the domain again at any time, click Edit, click On, then click Save.

Allow up to 15 minutes for changes to complete.
