What type of hosting account do I have?
Many of our hosting accounts offer different features from one another. Fortunately, your hosting account displays its type right in your account.
To Find Your Hosting Account's Type
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Web Hosting.
Your hosting account's type displays in the Plan column, in the following format:
Hosting – Type – Level – Operating System – Billing Period
Let's break down what each of these mean:
- Hosting — All hosting accounts say that they're Hosting so you know which product you're looking at.
- Type — We offer different types of hosting that have different capabilities:
- Shared — Shared hosting has the largest language support. For more information, see Which components does my hosting support?
- Web — Web hosting uses our powerful Grid Hosting platform. For more information, see Grid Hosting Frequently Asked Questions.
- WordPress — WordPress® hosting comes with WordPress installed in its root directory and uses our Grid Hosting platform.
- Level — Our different level of hosting accounts offer features you might need at the price-point you want:
- Economy — Host one website that supports most commonly-used programming languages.
- Deluxe, Premium, Unlimited, and Ultimate — Host multiple websites that support speciality programming languages.
- Operating System — Your hosting account's operating system can limit the programming languages you can use:
- Linux — Supports PHP, CGI, Ruby on Rails, Python, and more.
- Windows — Supports PHP (IIS 7 only), ASP, MS SQL databases, and more.
- Billing Period — The original length of time you purchased for your account displays as your billing period. However, if you renew your hosting account for a different length of time, the billing period does not update. For an exact date, check out the Expiration column.
