Create Your Staging Environment

You need to create your Managed WordPress staging environment first before you can start using it. Once it is created, you can use your staging environment to test changes to your Website without affecting your live Website.

  1. Log in to Gateway.
  2. Choose the Managed WordPress account you want to use, and click Settings.
  3. Click the Staging tab.
  4. Select one of the following options, and then click OK:
    Option What it does
Clone Cloning creates an exact duplicate of everything in your production environment, and moves it to the staging environment. This includes themes, plugins, comments, posts, etc.
Copy Copying only moves your theme and plugins to the staging environment, and does not include content like comments and posts.
