Managing Audio and Videos with Website Tonight
You can add audio files and videos to your Website Tonight® content blocks. For more information on managing content blocks, see Managing Content Blocks in Website Tonight.
If you have a significant amount of data, you can upload multiple times. But, you should be careful not to exceed the storage and bandwidth allocated to your Website Tonight account.
Audio files and videos you upload to Website Tonight are also available in your Photo Album account, if you have one.
Uploading and Inserting Audio
You can insert audio files in your content blocks to share them with your visitors. You must publish your website for the audio files to play live on the Internet.
To Upload and Insert Audio
- Log in to your Website Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer.
- If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to add your audio file to.
- Click the block you want to add your audio file to.
- Position your cursor where you want to add the audio file.
- Go to the Insert tab, move your mouse over Media, and then select Audio.
- From the Choose source menu, choose one of the following:
- Upload Audio — Upload an audio file from your computer.
- From the Select and upload your audio section, click Browse.
- Select the audio file you want to upload, and then click Open. To select multiple files, hold the Ctrl key while selecting files.
- Click Upload.
- Select audio on file — Select an audio file uploaded to your account.
- From the Select audio menu, select the audio file you want to add.
- From the Settings (optional) section, select an optional setting:
- Autostart this file — Audio file begins playing once visitors reach your Web page.
- Loop this file — Audio file automatically replays after it finishes playing.
- From the Select Player section, select the type of audio player you want to use.
- Click OK.
- Enter the URL to the MP3 File — Link to a URL where your audio file exists.
- In the Enter URL field, enter the URL where your file exists.
- From the Settings (optional) section, select an optional setting:
- Autostart this file — Audio file begins playing once visitors reach your Web page.
- Loop this file — Audio file automatically replays after it finishes playing.
- From the Select Player section, select the type of audio player you want to use.
- Click OK.
Uploading and Inserting Videos
You can add videos to your content blocks to share them with your visitors. You must publish your website for the videos to display live on the Internet.
To Upload and Insert Videos
- Log in to your Website Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer.
- If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to add your video to.
- Click the block you want to add your video to.
- Position your cursor where you want to add the video.
- Go to the Insert tab, move your mouse over Media, and then select Video.
- From the Choose source menu, choose one of the following:
- Upload a video — Upload a video from your computer.
- From the Select a gallery menu, select the gallery where you want your video to display. You can also select Create Gallery to create a new gallery. Enter a name for the gallery, and then click Create.
- From the Upload video section, click Browse.
- Select the video you want to upload, and then click Open. To select multiple files, hold the Ctrl key while selecting files.
- Click Upload.
- Choose a Video On File — Select a video uploaded to your account.
- From the Select file menu, select the video you want to add.
- From the Settings (optional) section, select an optional setting:
- Autostart video — Video begins playing once visitors reach your Web page.
- Loop this file — Video automatically replays after it finishes playing.
- From the Video player size menu, select the size of your video player.
- Click OK.
- Embed a URL to a Video — Link to a URL where your video exists or embed a code for your video.
NOTE: When selecting Embed, selecting a video player size is unavailable.
- In the Link URL or Embed video section, select one of the following:
- URL — Automatically retrieves embed code through the URL for YouTube®, Flickr® (video only), Blip®, Hulu®, and Vimeo®.
- Embed — Lets you manually enter embed code.
- Enter the URL or embed code for the video.
- From the Settings (optional) section, select an optional setting:
- Autostart video — Video begins playing once visitors reach your Web page.
- Loop this file — Video automatically replays after it finishes playing.
- From the Video player size menu, select the size of your video player.
- Click OK.
