Move Your WordPress Site

If you have a WordPress® Website with another company, you can migrate it to a GoWebsite Managed WordPress account using the built-in migration tool.

Preparing your Website for migration

Before migrating your Website, you want to make sure your Website can be migrated and you have all of the server information you need.

Eligible Websites

You can migrate a Website from any company or host unless it has:

• Either Classic or Web Windows hosting (more info)
• DNS issues
• Errors displaying
• Login protection, such as two-factor authentication
• Custom WordPress login pages

Server information

To perform the migration, you need the following information from your current host:

• FTP username and password
• WordPress admin username and password
• Host location or IP address

Migrate your Website

If you've already set up the account you want to use, you need to remove it before completing these instructions.

1. From your GoWebsite account, next to Managed WordPress, click Manage.
2. In the section for the New Managed WordPress account you want to use, click Set Up.
3. Click Migrate Your Existing WordPress Website, and then complete the on-screen fields.

You'll receive an email once we complete your Website's migration.
