Editing Additional FTP Users on Your Shared Hosting Account
You can easily edit the password and working directory for FTP users.
To Edit Additional FTP Users
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Web Hosting.
Click one of the following, based on the type of hosting you have. You can tell this by the second word in your hosting's description beneath your hosting account's domain name, e.g. Deluxe Web correlates to Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel).
Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel)
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
- From the Settings section, click FTP Users.
- Next to the user you want to update, click Actions, and then select Details.
- To change this user's password, click Reset. Enter and confirm a new password, and then click Update.
- To change this user's working directory, click Change. Type in a new path or click Browse to select a directory, and then click OK.
Linux (cPanel)
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
- In the Files section, click FTP Accounts.
- In the FTP Accounts section, click the option you want to use.
With cPanel, you cannot edit FTP Account's working directories. You must delete the user, and then recreate it. For more information, see:
