What are comments and trackbacks, and how can I manage them in my blog?
Once you understand comments and trackbacks, you can decide what you want to allow in Quick Blogcast®:. Get started with these definitions:
Comment — A reply or feedback that a reader can leave in response to a post on your Quick Blogcast Website. You can then write a comment in response, creating a dialog between you and your readers.
NOTE: Comments are limited to 3,000 characters.
Trackback — A link from a post in another blog or website to a post in your blog. The trackback sends a ping from the originating Website to your blog, to notify it that a link was created. You can block comments and trackbacks on your Website.
If you opt to allow comments and trackbacks to your blog, the Manage Comments page lists all of the comments for each post on your blog and the Manage Trackbacks page lists all of the trackbacks associated with posts to your blog.
From the Manage Comments page you can reply to, view, approve, or delete comments, ban IP addresses, or mark comments as SPAM. From the Manage Trackbacks page you can view, approve, edit, or delete trackbacks, ban IP addresses, or mark trackbacks as SPAM. Banning an IP address prevents access to your blog from that IP address, including comments and trackbacks.
You can require your approval for new comments and trackbacks before they are published to your blog, or you can allow automatic publishing of comments and trackbacks. If you set Quick Blogcast to require your approval before publishing comments and trackbacks, new comments or trackbacks made by others have a status of Pending Approval. You can also mark certain comments as SPAM. Comments or trackbacks that you create have a status of Draft until you publish them.
