About .bz Domains

The .bz country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents Belize. The information below also applies to the following country-code second-level domain names (ccSLDs):

• .com.bz — Intended for commercial entities
• .net.bz — Intended for network infrastructures, such as Internet Service Providers (ISPs)

These domain names can contain three to 63 characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except at the beginning or end of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.

¹ Renewal restrictions

Your .bz domain name renews on the day after its expiration date. If the renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt renewal 10 days after expiration and 40 days after expiration before the domain name is cancelled.

If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it before the 20th day following expiration, you must recover it, and there might be a fee to do so. See Recovering Expired Domain Names for instructions.
