Adding Domain Names to Your Hosting Account

You can add domain names to any type of hosting account. However, what you can do with additional domain names depends on the type of hosting account you have. For more information, see What type of hosting account do I have?

Type Description
Secondary Secondary domains have websites that work independently of the primary domain's hosted in separate folders. For more information, see Hosting Multiple Websites on Your Hosting Account.

Available with Deluxe, Premium, Unlimited, and Ultimate accounts.

While we offer unlimited secondary domains on our Deluxe, Premium, Unlimited, and Ultimate shared hosting accounts, we do not recommend using shared hosting for more than ten websites. Doing so taxes the server resources and hinders performance.

Aliases Alias domains display the primary domain's website with a different domain name/URL.

Available with all accounts.

To Add Domains

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting or Managed WordPress.

Click one of the following, based on the type of hosting you have. You can tell this by the second word in your hosting's description beneath your hosting account's domain name, e.g. Deluxe Web correlates to Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel).

Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel)

  1. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
  2. From the More menu, select Hosted Domains.
  3. Click Add Domain.
  4. Enter the domain name in the Domain field.
