Managing Workspace Desktop Sync Folders Settings on a Mac
You can create a folder on your Mac® that automatically syncs with Online Storage. Set the folder to upload only, download only, or to full synchronization.
To Manage Workspace Desktop Sync Folders Settings on a Mac
- Launch Workspace Desktop.
- Click Online Storage, and then click Sync Folders.
- Click Create a sync folder.
- Click the browse icon to select a folder to sync with from your hard drive.
- Click the browse icon to select a folder to sync with from Online Storage.
- Choose how you want the sync folder to work:
- Full Sync — Any file added to the sync folder on your hard drive is uploaded to Online Storage sync folder. Any file added to the Online Storage sync folder is downloaded to your hard drive sync folder.
- Upload — Any file added to the sync folder on your hard drive is uploaded to Online Storage sync folder.
- Download — Any file added to the Online Storage sync folder is downloaded to your hard drive sync folder.
- Click Options, and then complete the following optional fields:
- Enter the name for this sync — Name the sync to make it distinguishable from other folder sync's you might set up.
- Enter the file types to include — By default, all file types are included in the sync. To override the default, enter the file extensions to include in the sync.
- Enter the file types to exclude — Exclude specific file types from the sync by entering the file extension here.
- Enter the files of subfolders you want to exclude — Exclude specific files of subfolders by entering the file name here.
- Click Schedule, and then select one of the following:
- Manual — A back up or synchronization is performed only when you select Run from the action menu for the folder.
- Automatically — A back up or synchronization is performed multiple times per day.
- Daily — A back up or synchronization is performed each day, at the time you specify here.
- Weekly — A back up or synchronization is performed each week, at the time you specify here.
- Click OK
