Resetting Your Hosting Account (FTP/Panel) Password or Changing Its Username
You can reset or change the credentials you use to log in to your hosting account via FTP, which lets you upload files to your account using an FTP client.
To Reset or Change Your Hosting Account Login
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Web Hosting.
Click one of the following, based on the type of hosting you have. You can tell this by the second word in your hosting's description beneath your hosting account's domain name, e.g. Deluxe Web correlates to Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel).
Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel)
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
- From the Settings section, click FTP Users
- Next to the FTP user you want to modify, from the Actions menu, select either Change Password or Change Username.
- Enter the new information you want to use, and then click Update.
Linux (cPanel)
- Log in to Gateway using your GoWebsite.com login.
- Under the domain name for the user you want to modify, click Settings.
- Enter a New cPanel Password, and then click Change Password.
You cannot change the primary FTP account's username in cPanel.
If you want to change the password for your non-primary FTP users, log in to cPanel (more info), and then click FTP Accounts.
Windows (Plesk)
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Manage.
- Click FTP Access.
NOTE: If you don't see the icon, click Show More in the section for the domain name you want to use, and then click FTP Access.
- In the Name column, click the FTP user you want to modify.
- Enter the new login information you want to use, and then click OK.
