Resolving Errors with Your CSR

When you generate your certificate signing request (CSR) and put it into our online application, you may receive an error.

To eliminate any errors, make sure that your CSR:

  • Begins and ends with the -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- and -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- lines. Note the five dashes before and after.
  • Contains no additional spaces at the end.
  • Contains no line breaks within the CSR.
  • Uses 2048-bit key length. Why do you require a 2048-bit key for my CSR?

If these steps do not resolve the CSR error, generate a new CSR and resubmit.
