What is the process for registering .br domain names?
The .br top-level Country Code domain name (ccTLD) is an extension representing Brazil. For companies that conduct business in Brazil and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, .br domain names are a good investment. Registering .br domain names gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence.
Individuals and companies may register .br domain names using a trustee service, which we provide.

To Register .br Domain Names
- On our homepage, in the Domain Name Search area, enter the domain name.
- Select .com.br or .net.br from the dropdown list.
- Click Go, and then proceed through the screens and check out.
The domain name displays in the Domain Manager in Pending Registration status. Please allow up to 48 hours for the registration to complete and for the domain name to show up as active in your account.
Domain names can be up to 63 characters, with a minimum of three characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except as the first or last characters of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. Portuguese IDNs are supported.
