What is the process for registering .de domain names?
Anyone can register .de domain names on a first-come, first-served basis. The .de top-level Country Code domain name (ccTLD) is an extension representing Germany. For companies that conduct business in Germany and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, .de domain names are a good investment. Registering a .de domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence.

To Register a .de Domain Name
- On our homepage, in the Domain Name Search area, enter the domain name.
- Select .de from the dropdown list.
- Click Go, and then proceed through the screens to Checkout and complete the purchase.
Domain names can be up to 63 characters, with a minimum of three characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except at the beginning or end of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.
If neither the domain name registrant nor its administrative contact have a valid address in Germany, we provide a proxy service for the registration. In this case, your administrative contact is still listed in the Whois database.
