What should I include in my Contact Manager permission email?
The first time you email subscribers from your Contact Manager, you should send a permission email. Your permission email gives users the option of subscribing to your newsletter, and lets them know which types of email you send.
Sending a permission email verifies that their contact information is correct, and helps you avoid spam complaints.
To identify yourself and encourage subscription confirmation, your permission email should include the following:
- Where and when you obtained the recipient's email address.
- The types of email you send.
Here's an example: "We received your email address at last week's culinary festival, and want to include you in updates to our restaurant menu and weekly specials. To receive these updates, just click on the link below to confirm your interest."
NOTE: Do not include links or wording in your permission email that can be interpreted as spam. Remember, you're encouraging subscribers to opt in to your subscriber list. To avoid spam complaints, be clear and concise.
