Why would I use the 'Use as link' feature?

In Quick Shopping Cart® there are several fields that allow you to input HTML code. With the Use as link feature in the Media Gallery, you can use these fields to display images, link to PDF files, and embed Flash® files.

There are several reasons to use these features.

Maintain the Integrity of Your SSL

If you are using an SSL, you need to make sure that any images you display on your storefront come from a secure server. If you link to an image from a non-secure server and display it on your Website, a Website visitor sees an SSL warning and is likely to leave your Website due to concern over their personal information.

Provide Additional Information

You can link to a PDF whitepaper that goes into more detail than is appropriate to display on the main product page. If your product requires a Material Safety Data Sheet, you can link to a PDF that contains that information.

Provide Product Demonstrations

With a Flash file, you can provide animations that draw out key product features to help entice visitors to make a buying decision. Embed the Flash directly into the product page description field, or any field that accepts HTML coding.
