More and more people are looking online to find the closest bar or tavern. So whether you sell sushi, tapas or ice cold draws, help patrons find you with your own .BAR website.
The .BAR launch is divided into three phases: Trademark Holder (Sunrise), Priority Pre-Registration (Landrush) and General Availability. Each phase has specific application requirements:
From April 9, 2014, at 18:00 UTC to June 8, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, trademark holders can submit an application to register a .BAR domain containing their owned mark, before it's available to the public. When you submit the registration request, you pay registration and application fees. Application fees are non-refundable.
Trademark validation goes through the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), which is an ICANN global repository for trademark data. Visit the TMCH website for information on registering a trademark.
Bulk .BAR registration is not supported during this phase.
From June 11, 2014, at 18:00 UTC to July 10, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, customers can purchase .BAR domain names at a premium price. When you submit the registration request, you pay registration and application fees.
Multiple Priority Pre-Registration applications with different registrars are resolved via auction. If you don't get the domain you want, we refund your registration fee. However, applications fees are non-refundable.
Bulk .BAR registration is not supported during this phase.
Beginning July 14, 2014, at 18:00 UTC, customers can register .BAR domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bulk .BAR registration is supported during General Availability.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If we aren’t able to secure the domain name, we’ll refund the registration fee.
