The .tokyo domain extension is a brand new Web space where anyone can promote their brand and city both internationally and locally. Whether you live, own a business or just love the city of Tokyo, this domain name is perfect for you!
The .tokyo launch is divided into three pre-registration phases: Trademark Holder (Sunrise), Priority Pre-Registration (Landrush) and General Availability. Each phase has specific application requirements:
We are not offering .tokya domains during the Trademark Holder Registration - Sunrise phase.
Pre-registration gives you the best possible chance of securing a domain name before it's available to the general public, but it doesn't guarantee you will get it. You can pre-register for Sunrise, Landrush and General Availability phases, and we'll submit your registration application when the phase begins.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.
From June 9, 2014 at 15:00 UTC to July 18, 2014 at 15:00 UTC, customers can purchase .tokyo domain names at a premium price. A non-refundable application fee in addition to the domain's registration fee is collected when the registration request is submitted.
Bulk .tokyo registration is not supported during Landrush.
Multiple applications with different registrars are resolved on a first-come, first-served basis during General Availability, and then the awarded registrar will hold an auction and award the domain to the highest bidder. If you aren't able to secure the domain name, we'll refund the registration fee. Application fees will not be refunded.
NOTE: Landrush application fees are refundable if the application is canceled prior to the close of the phase, however it is non-refundable after the close.
