Can I change the common name of a certificate?

After a certificate has been issued, you cannot change the common name. If you need to change the common name for an issued certificate, you can revoke the certificate and purchase a new certificate credit.
CAUTION: Revoking a certificate is a permanent action. If the certificate was purchased within 30 days, contact Customer Support for refund eligibility.
If the certificate request is still pending, you can change the common name.
To Change the Common Name on a Pending Certificate Request
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, select SSL Certificates.
- Next to the certificate you want to cancel, click Manage Certificate.
- From the Filters list, click Pending Requests then select the request you want to cancel.
- Click Cancel pending certificate and click Continue.
This restores the certificate credit. You can resubmit the credit so it contains the correct common name.
