Delete a Subdomain

Now that you understand what a subdomain is, you can use the Zone File Editor in the DNS Manager to delete a non-forwarded subdomain that points to an IP address. If you want to forward a subdomain, see Forward a subdomain.

If you have forwarded your subdomain, deleting it in the DNS Manager does not delete its forwarding.

  1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
  2. Next to Domains, click Manage.
  3. Select the domain name you want to use, click Text Icon (Settings) and select Manage DNS.
  4. On the Records list, scroll down to the Forwarding section.
  5. Click Click pencil icon on existing MX records(the pencil icon) next to the subdomain you wish to delete.
  6. Click Click trashcan icon to delete MX record(the trashcan icon).
  7. Your subdomain will automatically be deleted.

DNS can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
