If you are using ColdFusion on your Windows hosting account, you can create a MySQL or SQL Server database to use with your ColdFusion website. Existing Windows IIS 6 accounts running ColdFusion can use Access databases, however, Access is not supported on Windows IIS 7 accounts.
NOTE: You must use a ColdFusion DSN to connect to your databases. ColdFusion does not support DSN-less connections. For information on how to create a ColdFusion DSN for your database, see How do I create a ColdFusion DSN for my database?
