Home Guides Glossary

Why aren't my website's images displaying?

Typically, there are two reasons why images might not display properly. Either your image was not uploaded to your Web server or the path to the image is incorrect.

If you have a Linux server account with us, double-check that the path to your image and the name of the image are identical, including the use of uppercase and lowercase letters. For example, if the name of your image is MyImage.JPG and the path in your HTML is myimage.jpg, then the server is not able to find your image.

When the server cannot find an image, it displays a red X where the image should be. You can right-click on the red X and select Properties to see the link to the image. This may help you track down the problem.
