About .bz Domain Names
The .bz country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents Belize. For companies that conduct business in Belize and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, .bz domain names are a good investment. Registering a .bz domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence.
The information below also applies to the following country-code second-level domain names (ccSLDs):
- .com.bz — Intended for commercial entities
- .net.bz — Intended for network infrastructures, such as Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
Who can register .bz domain names?
Anyone may register .bz domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.
These domain names can contain three to 63 characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except at the beginning or end of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #.
Which registry controls .bz domain names?
dot bz is the registry for .bz domain names.
For how long can I register .bz domain names?
The minimum registration length for .bz domain names is one year, and the maximum is 10 years.
When do .bz domain names renew?
Your .bz domain name renews on the day after its expiration date. If the renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt renewal 10 days after expiration and 40 days after expiration before the domain name is cancelled.
If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it before the 20th day following expiration, you must recover it, and there might be a fee to do so. See Recovering Expired Domain Names for instructions.
