Pointing Your Domain's Email Service to Google

If your domain name uses Google Apps for its email service you need to manually point your domain name's email service to it. This is done by changing your domain name's Mail Exchanger (MX) records, which control where email sent to your domain name gets delivered. If you're curious about how that works, see What is an MX record?

  1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
  2. Next to Domains, click Manage.
  3. Which steps you'll use next will depend on the number of domains in your account:
    • If you have 9 domains or fewer, select the domain name you want to use, click Text Icon (Settings) and select Manage DNS.
    • If you have more than 9 domains (i.e. 10 or more), click the domain you want to use.
  4. In the Records section, click Click pencil icon on existing MX records(the pencil icon), and then Click trashcan icon to delete MX record(the trashcan icon) to delete any existing MX records.
  5. At the bottom of the section, click Add and select MX from the menu. Fill out the the fields with the information from the table below. Click Save after adding each record, then Add to add a new one.
  6. Host Points to Priority

These changes can take up to seven days to reflect on the Internet.
