Verify Your Domain by Adding Code to Your Home Page

You can verify that you control the domain name you want WebsiteLock to scan by adding code to your website's home page (also known as its index file).

Find your verification file

1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
2. Click SiteLock.
3. Next to the account you want to use, click Manage.
4. In the Security Summary area, click Domain Verification.
5. Copy the code that displays.

Add the code to your home page

1. Determine your website's home page/index file. If you're using GoWebsite shared hosting, you can use the following articles based on which type of hosting you have:
   • cPanel
   • Plesk
   • Web & Classic
2. Add the verification code to your website in the HTML head section of their website. Shared hosting customers can use your control panel's built-in text editor:
   • cPanel
   • Plesk
   • Web & Classic

Verify your domain ownership

1. Log in to your GoWebsite account.
2. Click SiteLock.
3. Next to the account you want to use, click Manage.
4. In the Security Summary area, click Domain Verification.
5. Click Verify.

It can take a few minutes for WebsiteLock to verify your website. If there are any errors, WebsiteLock reports them on this page.
