Inserting Tables in Website Builder
Website Builder lets you create basic tables, customize tables using the Table Wizard and insert them into your website. To make it easy, we've also included a few pre-built tables to help you get started.
Tables are useful for formatting and aligning different styles of text such as a baby announcement or an event schedule.
Tables often give the designer greater control and flexibility of how text and images display on your Web page.
To Insert a Table
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click in the block where you want to add your table.
- From the Insert tab, click Table.
- Specify the layout of your table by completing the following fields:
- Rows — Specify the number of rows you want.
- Columns — Specify the number of columns you want.
- Width — Specify the width of the table, and then select the unit of measurement.
- Alignment — Select an option for aligning the table on the page.
- Border thickness — Specify the thickness you want to use.
- Cell spacing — Specify the amount of space between the table's cells.
- Cell padding — Specify the amount of space between the cell border and the text.
- Click OK.
To Edit or Customize a Table
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click in the block where you want to add your table.
- From the Insert tab, click Table Wizard.
- Customize the layout for your table:
- Table Design
- Columns — Enter the number of columns and use the plus or minus signs to increase or decrease the span of the column space.
- Rows — Enter the number of rows and use the plus or minus signs to increase or decrease the row span.
- Table Properties
- Dimensions — Choose the height and width of your table.
- Layout — Select your cell spacing and padding, alignment, background color and border thickness.
- CSS Class Layout — Choose your layout from the drop-down menu, apply special formats by selecting the box next to the options, and preview your table prior to clicking OK.
- Cell Properties
- Preview — Preview what your table looks like.
- Cell Properties — Adjust the cell height and width, content alignment, and background color.
- Table Design
- Click OK.
To Insert a Pre-Designed Table
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click in the block where you want to add your table.
- On the Insert tab, from the Tables drop-down menu, select one of the following pre-designed tables:
- Baby Announcement
- Biography
- Coupon Design 1
- Coupon Design 2
- Event Schedule
- Once selected, customize your text by clicking in the table and filling in your information.
- Click Save.
To Insert a Variable
Website Builder lets you to insert variables in your Web page. You might want to consider using a variable if the name of your company, copyright date or email address changes, or if your page browser, button, or heading title changes. You use the variable in place of the item. If you change the item name, Website Builder automatically updates it in your Web page content where you inserted the variable as a placeholder.
- Log in to your Website Builder account.
- From the Design menu, click Launch Page Designer.
- If necessary, from the Select Page list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the block you want to add the variable to.
- Go to the Insert tab, move your mouse over Site Elements, and then select the variable you want to insert.
